Networked Things Pty Ltd is a Melbourne-based startup. Our vision is to work with organisations and businesses (in Victoria and Australia) to provide the capability to rapidly prototype next generation systems for the Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs) industry. Our work will assist in bringing CAVs on Australian roads. These vehicles will improve passenger safety and reduce road traumas. This will help reduce the economic burden of road accidents on our community and improve traffic efficiency. CAVs will also reduce carbon footprint and make journeys more enjoyable

Networked Things was nominated for the Australia and New Zealand Driverless Vehicle Initiative (ADVI) State Innovation Award for Victoria (2017).

We can provide consultation to our customers/project partners and bring them up to speed with latest developments in the industry. We use off-the-shelf platforms to build prototypes and develop new products to cut the time-to-market significantly. Our services also include courseware development for universities. We are very keen to collaborate with universities and help develop the required skills in Australia.

Courseware Development Project

Networked Things developed courseware for a prestigious university in Victoria (Australia). We developed software for six temperature controlled chambers, using software-centric industrial embedded platform, to teach engineering students how different sensors work. Each of these chambers was equipped with an embedded controller (real-time processor and user-programmable FPGA) and different types of sensors (eleven sensors per chamber). We implemented data acquisition and control logic on embedded controllers and developed Windows application with graphical user interface to issue commands and plot data. We also prepared lab manuals to go with these chambers. This project was completed in a very short time frame because of our expertise in off-the-shelf software-centric platforms.
